MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF INSTITUTION
My name is Mrs Lucie Mildred Oyugi. I was appointed as a headteacher of this school in May 2008.
Welcome to Bomu Primary School website.
It gives me great pleasure to open up and get connected to the whole world and bring to your attention the story of the little known Bomu Primary school.
At our school we struggle to give knowledge to our very needy learners who come from the nearby slums. Yes we struggle because the big populations of 1578 pupils are under the tutorship of only 27 teachers thus a ratio of 1:60.
A baseline survey conducted in the school revealed that out of the 1578 pupils, 1050 learners were total orphans living with extended relatives. Most of them were orphaned through the HIV/Aids pandemic.
Most of the children at Bomu Primary school are weak and hungry this is because they eat one meal a day. I sincerely thank the World Food Programme (WFP) for having selected our needy school to benefit from the slum feeding programme for the rest of the year. We are in the process of putting in place the requirements for the implementation.
I trust and believe that with the provision of the balanced meal to the children, they will soon be strong, healthy, active and ready to learn.
